Needs to be said

The purpose of JSB is not to embrace what the "cool kids" refer to as fanboy sports geekdom.*

Nor is it to post items at 12:18 on a Saturday night. (It's raining really hard.)

I am not a Boston Red Sox fan.

Jonathan Papelbon is not on my fantasy baseball team.

But something has come to my attention that I can not, not acknowledge.

Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon has a 0.24 ERA.

We've all seen the 0.00 ERA. It shows up at least 30 times on opening day.

I also know the record for consecutive scoreless innings is
59. Whereas Papelbon has already given up a run in 38 innings pitched.

Nevertheless, have the numbers zero two and four ever appeared consecutively and followed by the acronym for earned run average in the known history of all things?

That question is for
The Elias Sports Bureau.

For now, color this disinterested party impressed.
